Teach (20 Minutes)

Timed 3-6-3 Relay

Each team will use their own table or space on the floor to practice and time themselves in the Timed 3-6-3 Relay. Unlike the Head to Head Relay teams are not competing against one another, rather against themselves to try and better their time. One team on one table (Or floor) with one set of Speed Stacks and 1 Stackmat for each team. The lead competitor for that team starts at the table, while the other 4-5 members wait behind a start line, 7’ back, to be tagged. The lead competitor starts the timer and the last competitor ends the timer and team can work autonomously. Tables are not required as teams can use the floor.

Challenge Activity

Teams work on the Timed 3-6-3 Relay. Teams have a set amount of time to see what their fastest recorded time will be. Each team member has to try a different position on the team (starter, middle, last stacker).

Modifications

  • Have students only complete a simpler stack while learning how to follow the rules for the Timed Relays.
  • Put 4 teams at one 6-foot table if space is limited.
